During the XIX century Haro was involved in the events of the time, fortifying during the Independence war, and after that, to mark the Succession War in 1834. In 1833 it was established Logroņo province and it stopped belonging to Burgos in reference to the administrative area. After a year, Haro became in one of the nine administrative areas, covering 30 villages in its jurisdiction. By the end of this century Haro outstands economically due to multiples industries, any of them were of new creation.

For all this, and acting on Marques de Francos initiative, The Quenn Maria Cristina, by royal decree in 1891, conferred the City denomination. As a consequence of this prosperity: in 1841 was inaugurated Breton de los Herreros Theatre, in 1886 bullring, by Lagartijo and Frascuelo; in 1877 it was approved the street lighting project, which was inaugurated in Ntra. Sra. De La Vega Festival in 1890, in 1892 Banco de Espaņa branch was opened, and the same year as initiative of Promotion minister, Linares Rivas, it was building the enological station.
