Haro region is the most northwestern region of La Rioja, becoming the frontier with Burgos and Alava. Its capital, Haro has a 40.32 Km2 area. It is the economic -administrative centre of the administrative area, which embraces 49 town councils, including Haro.

Its altitude above sea level (496,50m in the Paz Square) provides a warm climate in summer and a cold and cloudy weather in winter. It is located in the Obarenses mount southern slope, ending in the Bilibio's Crag, which are separated from Cantabria Mountains by Conchas of Haro, composing a morphological unit. From this point, the relief drops quickly towards Ebro Valley.

Ebro and Tiron rivers bathe the municipal area, giving a black poplar and grove landscape where Haro's people go for a walk during the summer. They provide also irrigated land where mainly fruit and vegetables growing.

 
     
  Population  
     
  As a result of the industrial stagnation, from the 50s the city has a zero growth; this fact indicates that people migration has limited its natural growth. Nowadays, only the 40% of the population have been born in Haro, with a total population of 9247 people, according 1st of January of 2001 census.
