IV Symposium of the International Association of History and Civilization of the Grapevine and Wine.

The symposiums held by the Association are forums consisting of meetings, interchanges of projects and the results of the investigations and debates between the investigators of the different fields who study the grapevine and the wine in their historical evolution.
The symposiums held by the International Association of History and Civilization of the Grapevine and Wine are open not only to members, but also to non-member investigators.

CONTENTS
The symposium is divided into three different areas.
I. The history of the wine culture in La Rioja.
The first session of the symposium (Monday,14),as well as the tour on the zone on Sunday 13 and the visits to the wine cellars organized on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16, complete this work area, with which one tries to know in situ and at first hand, the wine culture of La Rioja.
I. Area of analysis of free topics.
In this IVth Symposium, there will be different simultaneous group sessions focused on the different disciplines of each investigator. The investigators have a reservation to talk in the group session in which his discipline is related.
In the simultaneous group sessions, the investigators will personally present their studies. Each investigator has a time slot for their intervention and to share their studies depending on their number and the amount of time available in the session.
I. Area of discussing the presented contributions from the simultaneous group sessions.
In order to guarantee and propitiate the exchange of results from the investigations that were carried out in the different disciplines about wine culture and its historical evolution and instigate debates among the investigators, the last session of the IV Symposium ( that will be plenary ) will be dedicated to talking about the achievements made in each simultaneous group session that were presented during the first two days of the Symposium.
The investigators will be in charge of the critical synopsis from each of the different sessions.
COMMUNICATIONS PROPOSALS
Those investigators who are interested in presenting a report should send their written proposal (a summary no longer than one page) to the Secretary of the Symposium , due by 10/02/2004.
PREVIEW
The Symposium programme will be announced in March of 2004 (advanced) and in April of 2004 (definitive).
REGISTRATION
Shown below are the following registration categories:
I. Lecturing participants: 90 euros
II. Companions or observers: 150 euros
The members of the International Association of the History and Civilization of the Grapevine and the Wine (those members enrolled before December 1, 2003) are exempt from paying the registration fee.
